The UCLA Health Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization founded in 1955. It was established to support various programs and initiatives at UCLA Health that benefit patients, their families, and the hospital staff. Over the years, the Auxiliary has played a crucial role in raising funds for a variety of patient-centered services, such as the People Animal Connection (PAC) program, the Adopt-A-Family program, and the Emergency Room Patient Clothing program. The organization generates funds primarily through the operation of gift shops and a thrift store located at various UCLA Health facilities, including the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica. These funds are then allocated to special projects, patient aid, and scholarships for medical and nursing students who contribute as volunteers. The Auxiliary's involvement goes beyond fundraising; it also organizes events and provides opportunities for community members to volunteer and support UCLA Health's mission. Through its efforts, the UCLA Health Auxiliary has become an integral part of the hospital system, contributing over $11 million to UCLA Health over the decades. |
